David Miller hits sensational century in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final
Miller emerged as the lone warrior for the Proteas in the high-octane match against the Black Caps. Chasing the target of 363 runs, South Africa lost Ryan Rickelton early but Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen stabilized the innings with their brilliant fifties.
However, once Bavuma and van der Dussen got out, South Africa's chase got off the track. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but as that happened, David Miller stood strong at one end.
Miller showcased a batting masterclass and the Kiwi bowlers were unable to trouble him. He completed his fifty off 46 balls and then accelerated exceptionally well to reach the three-figure mark in 67 balls.
On the final ball of the match, David Miller hit a full ball from Kyle Jamieson towards long-off and ran quick two runs to complete his ton, which was the fastest in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy.
After reaching the milestone, he was seen doing the cradle/ baby celebration before soaking in all the applause from the crowd and dressing room.

What Happened In The Previous ODI Match Between South Africa and New Zealand?
The last ODI encounter between South Africa and New Zealand was held in Lahore on February 10. New Zealand bagged a 6-wicket victory over the Proteas in the match, which was part of the Pakistan Tri-Nation Series.
After being put to bat first, South Africa posted a competitive total of 304/6 on the board in their 50 overs. The highlight of their innings was debutant Matthew Breetzke’s remarkable 150 runs off 148 balls.
He created history by registering the highest-ever score by a player on his ODI debut. Other than him, Wiaan Mulder contributed 64 runs off 60 balls and Jason Smith chipped in with 41 runs off 51 balls.
However, in the middle overs, South Africa’s scoring rate remained sluggish as the Kiwi bowlers Matt Henry, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, and Will O’Rourke did a really good job.
While chasing the target, New Zealand batters looked calm and composed. Despite losing Will Young early for 19, Devon Conway (97) and Kane Williamson (133*) put on a record 187-run partnership to take the game away from South Africa.
Conway fell short of his century by 3 runs, but Williamson hit a sensational century to make sure that New Zealand crossed the finish line with eight balls to spare. Notably, all-rounder Glenn Phillips provided the finishing touches with 28* runs off 32 balls and helped the Black Caps complete one of the highest successful chases in Lahore.
Talking about South Africa bowlers, they struggled with only Senuran Muthusamy (2/50), Eathan Bosch (1/33) and Junior Dala (1/47) being among wickets.
