Digvesh Rathi threatens to Mankad Ashutosh Sharma
In the 17th over of the second innings, Rathi returned to bowl and dismissed explosive player Vipraj Nigam on the first ball of the over to bring Lucknow Super Giants back in the game.
After that, Mitchell Starc came to bat and Digvesh Rathi went to bowl, but he suddenly pulled off and threatened to run out Ashutosh Sharma at the non-striker's end. It was more like a friendly warning given by the debutant to the Delhi Capitals batter.

IPL 2025: We want to start well - DC batter Tristan Stubbs
Speaking ahead of the match, the star batter Tristan Stubbs said that they wanted to start the season on a high. He elaborated:
"I am really keen to get going. Looking forward to the crowd. Feels like a holy environment. Everything looks different. Hopefully, we can start well. We have a new coach and captain and I am hopeful of doing good things for them. We want to start well. Hopefully, we get on a good run later on. Last season, we started badly."
What happened in the previous IPL match between DC and LSG?
The previous IPL match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals was held on May 14, 2024. DC secured a 19-run victory over LSG in that match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
Batting first, DC put up a great total of 208/4 on the board. Abishek Porel (58 off 33) and Tristan Stubbs (57* off 25) led the charge and received good support from Shai Hope (38) and Rishabh Pant (33).
They started aggressively, racing to 73/1 in the powerplay, and even though LSG spinners slowed down the scoring in the middle overs, Tristan Stubbs’ late assault propelled DC past the 200-run mark.
In reply, LSG suffered an early collapse, stumbling to 44/4 inside five overs. Ishant Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, picking up 3/34, including the key wickets of KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Deepak Hooda. Nicholas Pooran (61 off 27) counterattacked with a flurry of boundaries, but Mukesh Kumar dismissed him at a crucial juncture.
Arshad Khan, batting at No. 8, nearly pulled off a heist with an unbeaten 58 off 33 balls. However, LSG were restricted to 189/9 as DC bowlers held their nerve to close out the match.
