Lucknow Super Giants spinner Digvesh Rathi brought his team back in the game during the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The 21st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Digvesh Rathi, who is one of the exciting players going in the IPL 2025, provided his team with the crucial breakthrough of Sunil Narine in a pressure situation while defending 239 runs. The mystery spinner made an instant impact as he was introduced into the attack.
Digvesh Rathi removed his idol Sunil Narine on the 2nd ball of the 7th over as he bowled a googly on a full-length outside off. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter threw his bat at it and didn't generate enough power on it as the ball went towards the long-off, where Aiden Markram took a sliding catch.
What caught the attention of many was the celebration of Digvesh Rathi after taking the wicket. The Lucknow Super Giants spinner yet again came up with the notebook celebration, but this time, he didn't go anywhere close to the batter and signed on the grass.

Digvesh Rathi on the verge of getting banned
The celebration might see him getting banned in the next match. This is because he came up with the notebook celebration during the game against the Punjab Kings, giving a send-off to Priyansh Arya, and then also came up with similar celebrations against the Mumbai Indians.
He also received one demerit point along with a fine during the game against Punjab Kings and the against Mumbai Indians, his Level 1 code of conduct breach came with a bigger fine as a result. The offense also earned him two demerit points to go with the one he had from the earlier occasion.
According to the IPL Code of Conduct, four demerit points add up to one suspension point, meaning the player will be forced to sit out one match when that mark is reached. Since the demerit points remain on an individual's record for a period of 36 months.
Lucknow Super Giants won the game by the margin of just 4 runs
Digvesh Rathi bowled 4 overs in the game and ended up giving 33 runs. He had an economy rate of 8.20, which was the best among the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers in the game. His decent spell with the ball helped the Rishabh Pant-led side win the game by the margin of just 4 runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a decent outing with the bat, too. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (61), Sunil Narine (30) and Venkatesh Iyer (45) played decent hands to keep their team in the hunt. Rinku Singh (38*) tried his best in the end but lacked support as Kolkata fell short by just four runs,
