Bangladesh National Cricket Team fast bowler Hasan Mahmud produced a sensational moment on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies National Cricket Team at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Friday (November 6).

Mahmud looked set to complete a memorable hat-trick after taking two wickets in two consecutive deliveries and putting the visitors under huge pressure, but a successful DRS review by Joshua Bishop denied him the opportunity to create history in Sylhet.

Hasan Mahmud destroys the West Indies with stunning spell

It was all started with the dismissal of well-set batter Amir Jangoo in the 81.4th over. Hasan Mahmud used the new ball brilliantly and bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump. The ball moved sharply back into the batter after pitching, leaving Jangoo completely surprised.

The West Indies batter lifted his bat, but the ball crashed into the top of the middle and off stumps. Jangoo had to walk back after playing a superb innings of 133 runs from 212 balls, which included 13 fours and two sixes. It was a massive breakthrough for Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh pacer then produced another beauty to remove West Indies captain Roston Chase on the very next delivery. Chase tried to defend a good-length ball, but it moved back sharply and took a thick inside edge before Litton Das completed a brilliant catch behind the stumps. Chase was dismissed for a golden duck, giving Mahmud a great opportunity to take a hat-trick.

Joshua Bishop's DRS review denies Hasan Mahmud a hat-trick

Hasan Mahmud got another opportunity to complete his hat-trick when Joshua Bishop came out to face the final delivery of the over. The bowler once again sent a delivery that moved sharply into the batter. Bishop played down the wrong line and was struck on the pads.

The umpire immediately raised his finger, but Bishop decided to take a DRS review. The replay showed a clear spike on UltraEdge as the ball passed the bat, which confirmed that the batter had got an inside edge before it hit his pads. The on-field decision was overturned, and Bishop survived.
