Fakhar Zaman was sent to open the innings with Sahibzada Farhan at the Dubai International Stadium, and Saim Ayub, who bagged three consecutive ducks in the last three games, was demoted to No.3.

The veteran left-handed batter Fakhar came out all guns blazing and played an attacking brand of cricket right from the very start.

He took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners and looked set for a big score. However, his innings was cut short by all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the third over.

On the third ball of the over, Hardik Pandya bowled an off-cutter on the length and Fakhar Zaman edged it behind the keeper Sanju Samson, who took a great low catch.

It looked out at first glance, but on replays, it seemed like a tricky call. The third umpire watched multiple replays, and after that, he found out that the ball was carried cleanly.

As the Out decision was displayed on the big screen, Fakhar Zaman looked confused, and he was livid at the same time. He was seen expressing his anger on the field. The veteran left-handed batter, who scored 15 runs off 9 balls, was also seen complaining to coach Mike Hesson while climbing up the stairs, and the coach just threw his hands up as he couldn't believe the decision.

Meanwhile, the former pacer Waqar Younis, while doing commentary with Ravi Shastri, said that the third umpire made the wrong decision. He said:

"I'm not sure that this ball is carried. It seems like that ball bounced just before the gloves."

Pakistan's batting has to come to the fore - Aakash Chopra

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the match, the former India opener Aakash Chopra said that the miserable Pakistan batting unit needs to fire if they want to give themselves a chance against the Men In Blue. He elaborated:

"Well, I think Pakistan's batting has to come to the fore. If the batters can stand up and get counted because that's something that hasn't happened. They were in for almost in for an upset in the last game versus the UAE where Shaheen Afridi saved them the blushes with the bat. So, if that's the case then it is an uphill climb.

"If you're up against the quality of Indian bowlers, don't expect even though again in that game against India also it was Shaheen who took them to 127. Otherwise, it would have been 101 or 105 which wasn't going to be enough anyway. So, their batters need to somehow somebody will have to put their hand up whether it's Mohammad Haris or Fakhar Zaman or whoever else. I mean their batting. I think if the batting doesn't fire, this will be a no-contest."
