Virat Kohli's reaction after Rishabh Pant's dismissal in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh clash said it all. The India wicketkeeper-batsman lost his wicket at a crucial juncture in the Super 8 clash of the ongoing ICC T20 Cup 2024.
The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got the start but they could not convert their starts into big score. The India skipper raced away to 23 runs off just 10 balls before being dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan. Virat Kohli crossed the 30-run mark for the first time in the tournament but did not last long and was dismissed for 37 by Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the 9th over.
In the same over, Sakib dismissed the in-form Suryakumar Yadav cheaply too to leave India reeling at 77 for 3. The momentum was with Bangladesh at that moment but Rishabh Pant quickly turned the tide by playing some big shots in quick time.
He took the score past the 100-run mark and was well set. The wicketkeeper had raced away to 36 runs with the help of four fours and six sixes before throwing away his wicket in the 12th over. He went for a reverse sweep against Rishad Hossain but ended up hitting the ball straight to the fielder at short third man.
And as Pant was dismissed, Virat Kohli looked absolutely dejected in the dugout. He was seen saying something out of frustration before covering his mouth with the towel. Later, Kohli was also seen having a chat with Pant in the dugout.

Talking about the game, India finished their innings on 196 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. After Pant's dismissal, Shivam Dube played a fine cameo of 34 runs before Hardik Pandya's whirlwind unbeaten fifty took India to the big total. The India vice-captain remained unbeaten on 50 runs off 27 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes.
A win in the ongoing game will all but seal a spot in the semifinals for Team India. The Rohit Sharma-led started its Super 8 campaign with a win over Afghanistan and will be looking to win the ongoing game as well.
