Gautam Gambhir Fumes At Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson's poor form with the bat continued as he failed to do well in the ongoing fourth T20I between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

It was his fourth successive failure in the ongoing five-match series. Before the start of the series, it looked like Sanju Samson had nailed his spot as the opener in India's T20I team. He had scored as many as three centuries in his last 5 T20Is before the series against England.

The right-handed batsman scored one century against Bangladesh at home before scoring two brilliant tons in South Africa. However, Sanju Samson has looked out of sorts in the ongoing series as he is yet to reach the 30-run mark in an innings.

Even after doing well on the bouncy wickets of South Africa, the Kerala star has struggled against England's pacers in the ongoing series. He was dismissed by his former Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer in the first three T20Is. The England pacer dismissed the India opener inside the powerplay in all three games.

Gautam Gambhir furious at Sanju Samson:

Sanju Samson began the series on a promising note, scoring a quickfire 26 in the first T20I. However, he registered single-digit scores in the second and third T20Is, scoring 5 and 3 respectively. He had the chance to make amends in the ongoing game.

With India looking to bounce back after the loss in the third T20I and seal the series, Sanju Samson would have impressed the team management by giving the team a good start in the crucial game. However, he failed to deliver with the bat and departed after scoring only 1 run.

Saqib Mahmood, playing his first game of the series, dismissed Samson on the very first ball of the second over. Not only the dismissal but the method of dismissal would also be a cause of concern for Samson and the team management. For the fourth game in a row, the wicketkeeper-batsman lost his wicket while playing a pull shot against a short ball.

And as Samson lost his wicket, head coach Gautam Gambhir did not shy away from showing his emotions. Sitting in the dugout, Gambhir made it very clear that he was frustrated with Samson's latest failure.

Talking about the game, India were on 39/3 in the sixth over at the time of writing this report. After dismissing Samson, Mahmood dismissed Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav in the second over as well to put England in the driver's seat.
