Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t hold back his excitement during India’s thrilling victory celebration at The Oval on August 4. Indian captain Shubman Gill marched at the front of the group as they proudly soaked in the applause after leveling the five-match Test series 2-2.
Mohammed Siraj led the way with the match ball in his hand, waving to the cheering fans after helping India to beat England by six runs in the fifth and final Test at The Oval. Siraj was joined by fellow bowlers Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna, and the trio walked arm-in-arm.

The Indian players posed for pictures, waved to the crowd, and enjoyed every moment of the hard-earned celebration in England, which managed to win only two Tests against the young team, even at their home ground. Even they won the Lord’s Test by just 22 runs against India.

As the Indian cricket team took a victory lap around the ground at The Oval, Ravindra Jadeja was seen pointing towards the English crowd and jokingly saying, “Goron ke muh dekh,” teasing the stunned expressions on their faces after India’s dramatic six-run win in the final Test.

Ravindra Jadeja shines in England as India scripts historic win at The Oval
Notably, Ravindra Jadeja played a key role in India’s drawn Test series in England. The Indian all-rounder finished the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as the fourth leading run scorer with 516 runs at an average of 86.00 and at a strike rate of 55.07 in his 10 innings against England.
Additionally, the left-arm spinner scalped seven wickets in 5 tests against England, including one four-fer. Speaking about Ravindra Jadeja's Test numbers, the all-rounder has 3886 runs and 330 wickets to his name in 85 Tests. Now, he is likely to be seen in action on the Australia tour later this year.

Notably, with the Oval blockbuster against England, India registered a historic milestone by winning the fifth match of a Test series on foreign soil for the first time ever. Also, India’s win in the final Test by just 6 runs was their narrowest-ever Test victory in terms of runs.
India’s home Test season kicks off in October
Meanwhile, the Indian Test team will now take a short break before their next assignment. They are set to play four home tests later this year—two against the West Indies and two against South Africa. The West Indies series will be held from October 2 to 14 in Ahmedabad and Delhi.
After two Tests against the West Indies, the Indian team will face South Africa from November 14 to 26 in Kolkata and Guwahati. In 2026, India is also expected to tour Sri Lanka and New Zealand for two Test matches each. The exact dates for those tours are yet to be announced.
Apart from that, India will host Afghanistan for a one-off Test, but that match won’t count towards the WTC 2025-27. India’s current WTC cycle will end with a five-match home series against Australia, starting in January 2027. The full schedule for the Test series is yet to be announced.
