Rohit Sharma has scored a brilliant fifty in the ongoing IPL 2025 Eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
The former MI captain was under immense pressure to deliver in the crucial game after his indifferent batting display in IPL 2025. Even in the last three games, Rohit Sharma failed to impress with the bat, registering scores of 7, 5 and 24.
Rohit has not been up to his best in IPL 2025
He was struggling to find his rhythm early on against GT as well. The right-handed batsman was also fortunate to get as many as two reprieves inside the first three overs. In the second over, his miscued pull shot was dropped by Gerald Coetzee when he was batting on just 3 runs.
He was dropped again in the third over when he was on 12. Rohit Sharma edged Mohammed Siraj's delivery behind the stumps but the catch was dropped by Kusal Mendis.

Rohit got a lot of lives in the eliminator
After getting two big reprieves, Rohit went on to make the most of it and completed a fine fifty. He got into the groove in the last over of the powerplay when he hit Sai Kishore for six and two fours to race away to 33 runs off 19 balls.
Rohit finally reached his fifty in the 10th over. He completed his fifty in style by hitting Sai Kishore for a four and reaching the landmark in just 28 balls. As Rohit completed a brilliant fifty in the crucial game, MI captain Hardik Pandya as well as the owners of the franchise gave him a standing ovation.

Talking about the match, MI are looking destined to post a big total in the ongoing Eliminator. They were on 143/2 after 13 overs at the time of writing this report. Jonny Bairstow and Suryakumar Yadav are the two MI players to be dismissed so far.
Playing his first game of the tournament, Bairstow hit the ground running and hammered 47 runs off 22 balls. Suryakumar also got the start and was out for 33 runs.
