Tamil Nadu batter Vijay Shankar has set the stage on fire in the ongoing game against Baroda. The all-rounder came up with the brutal effort with the bat down the order and made sure that his team ended up with the big total on the board in the crucial game.

Vijay Shankar's best came in the over of Pandya, where he took the premier Indian all-rounder to the cleaners. The Tamil Nadu batter made sure that he brought his best with the bat and ended up hitting three sixes against the Baroda star.

Shankar hit the first six massively in the long-on region and followed it up with the same effort, but this time in long off. If this was not enough, the all-rounder then went straight down the ground, giving Hardik Pandya a taste of his own medicine.

Shankar played an impactful hand for his team while batting at 5. The all-rounder ended with the innings of unbeaten 42 runs off 22 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 190 and also slammed 4 sixes in his innings. His powerful knock took his team to a total of 221/6.

Apart from Shankar, N Jagadeesan (57), Baba Indrajith (25), Boopathi Kumar (28) and skipper Shahrukh Khan (39) played decently. Based on the collective effort with the bat, Tamil Nadu ended up posting a massive total on the board.

Pandya, on the other hand, didn't have a great outing with the ball. The all-rounder bowled three overs and gave 44 runs. For Baroda, Lukman Meriwala was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets.

Shankar slamming massive sixes will be a big boost for Chennai Super Kings. The all-rounder was acquired by the five-time champions for INR 1.2 crore. He would be hoping to carry on his good form and help the Chennai Super Kings lift their sixth title in the league.
