Popular commentator and broadcaster Harsha Bhogle made a cheeky remark following India's eight-wicket defeat to New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series. Harsha Bhogle assured Team India captain Rohit Sharma that he wouldn't be harsh for the humiliating loss during the series opener.

India lost the first Test match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, conceding a 1-0 lead to New Zealand in the three-match series. This defeat marked India's first loss to the Kiwis at home in Test cricket in 36 years. The last time the Black Caps won a Test match in India was in 1988 under John Wright.

The Kiwis began the final day needing 107 runs to win. Jasprit Bumrah gave India a glimmer of hope by dismissing Tom Latham on the second ball. Bumrah later removed Devon Conway (17) to keep India in the game. However, Will Young (48) and Rachin Ravindra (39) guided the team to victory in 27.2 overs.

Yaha Koi Talwaar Nahi Chalegi - Harsha Bhogle To Rohit Sharma

On Sunday, October 20, at the post-match presentation, Harsha Bhogle jokingly assured Rohit Sharma that there would be no tough questions or scrutiny despite the India cricket team's disappointing performance during the series opener.

”Yaha koi talwaar nahi chalegi (there are no swords here)," Harsha Bhogle told Rohit with a smile on his face.

Chalao Talwaar - Rohit Sharma After Day 2 In Bengaluru

Before the press conference following India's collapse to 46 all out on Day 2 of the first Test against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma joked with the waiting reporters, saying "Chalao talwaar".

“Chalao talwaar, (Bring out the knives)," Rohit told reporters after Day 2.

India was bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings. It was their lowest-ever Test total at home and third-lowest overall. New Zealand's Matt Henry and William O'Rourke played key roles in India's collapse. Henry took five wickets, while O'Rourke claimed four wickets on the second day of the match.
