The incident happened in the 8th over of Bangladesh’s innings at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on May 16. Hasan Ali bowled a short delivery outside the off stump to Tanzid Hasan Tamim. The ball moved across the batter after being pitched.

Tanzid tried to play it towards the leg side a little too early, but the timing was not good; as a result, the ball took the top edge of the bat and popped back towards Hasan. It was almost a caught-and-bowled chance as Hasan stretched out his right hand while finishing his bowling action, but the pacer managed to get only his fingertips on the ball.
While trying to stop the catch, Hasan Ali completely lost his balance and fell awkwardly on the ground. During the fall, the right side of his head hit the turf hard, and the Pakistani pacer immediately grabbed his head and stayed on the ground, leaving everyone shocked.
Hasan Ali leaves the field on a stretcher in Sylhet
Pakistan’s physio rushed onto the field and gave medical treatment for several minutes. Hasan appeared dizzy and uncomfortable while the medical team carefully checked him. Soon, a stretcher was brought onto the field as concern grew inside the Pakistan camp.
Later, the support staff helped Hasan onto the stretcher before he was taken off the ground for further medical attention. Pakistan head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also seen having serious discussions near the boundary line as tension increased in the camp.

Now, it will be interesting to see whether Pakistan will be allowed the concussion substitute, as Pakistan are already playing with only four main bowlers in the match. So, losing Hasan on Day 1 would be a massive setback for Shan Masood’s side in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to share any update on Hasan.

Mohammad Abbas is on fire as he sent the opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy back to the pavilion for a duck and then removed his partner Tanzid Hasan Tamim for 26 runs off 34 balls. After Abbas' fiery spell, Khurram Shahzad made an instant impact after replacing Shaheen Afridi in the line-up by dismissing Mominul Haque for just 22 runs.
