While T20 cricket is known for immense entertainment and fast-flowing cricket, during the SA20 2024 match between Durban Super Giants and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Giants batsman Heinrich Klaasen slammed a brilliant six to Liam Dawson. Klaasen smashed a six of 105-m on the 2nd ball of the 10th over which went over the long on region.

Batting first at the Kingsmead, Durban, Wiaan Mulder was the top run scorer of the innings and played an innings of 52 runs from 29 balls. He hit a total of 3 fours and 4 sixes during his stay at the crease. However, the Durban Super Giants didn’t start off well and Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 7 runs. JJ Smuts and Marcus Stoinis were not able to do much and walked back to the dressing room for 9 and 1 run respectively.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the defending champions of the SA20 and will once again aim to defend their title this season. On the other hand, the Durban Super Giants were eliminated in the last edition of the tournament and were not able to make it to the knockouts.

However, this season things have turned for the Durban Super Giants as they currently top the table with 3 wins from 4 games. On the other hand, Sunrisers Eastern Cape are placed in the 4th spot with 1 win from 3 matches.

The SA20, which consists of the Joburg Super Kings, Durban Super Giants, Paarl Royals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, MI Cape Town, and Pretoria Capitals, is sometimes referred to as the “mini-Indian Premier League.” The Indian Premier League teams’ owners are the owners of each of these franchises.

The SA20 has established itself as one of the best leagues in the world, and the upcoming second season of the competition has the potential to be yet another huge success. The SA20 is also very similar to the Indian Premier League, as it uses the auction process to select and pick up players in the squad of the various franchises.

Returning to the match, Sunrisers Eastern Cape have big names such as Dawid Malan, Aiden Makram, Tristan Stubbs, and Marco Jansen, who can prove to be essential in helping their team chase down 160 runs and grab their second win of the tournament.

On the other hand, Durban Super Giants also have a decent bowling attack and they will aim to continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
