Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir lost his cool after teammate Imad Wasim's lackluster fielding effort in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024) match. The incident took place during the match between Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and Barbados Royals in the ongoing CPL season.

Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir are currently representing the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL 2024 season.

Antigua is at the bottom of the six-team points table so far in the T20 tournament. The Chris Green-led team has suffered losses in their first three group-stage matches.

The Barbados Royals recorded a nine-wicket victory over the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Sunday, September 1 (local time).

Opener Quinton de Kock played a crucial knock to help the team chase down the 146-run target with more than 4 overs to spare.

On the first ball of the 14th over of the Barbados Royals' innings, Quinton de Kock played a short-pitched delivery from Mohammad Amir towards the third-man boundary.

Imad Wasim was stationed at a deep backward point and was running towards the ball to save the boundary.

However, Imad, who had previously struggled with the bat, was seen jogging slowly as the ball went for four runs.

Amir shouted at Wasim following his poor effort near the boundary. The fast bowler changed his teammate’s fielding position on the next ball of the over in the match.

Quinton de Kock scored 87 runs off 45 balls, including nine fours and five sixes. Rahkeem Cornwall (34 off 20) and Shamarh Brooks (21 off 28) also made valuable contributions. Imad took one wicket for 21 runs in his three overs, while Amir went wicketless and conceded 44 runs in his 3.3 overs.

We Were Completely Outplayed - Chris Green

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons skipper Chris Green admitted that his team was outplayed in all three departments. Green stated that they need to improve their game and show more aggression in the remaining matches.

"We were completely outplayed in all facets, the way they batted took the game completely away from us. Sometimes gotta tip your hat off and say well played," Green said.

"We gotta up our game and play better cricket and put more impetus with the bat and play aggressive and passionate cricket and show our fans what we can do in the last 2 games," he added.

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will take on the Saint Lucia Kings in their next CPL match on September 4.

The match will be played at the North Sound Stadium in Antigua, starting at 04:30 AM IST. It is worth mentioning that the Falcons are playing in their inaugural Caribbean Premier League.
