Indian Champions all-rounder Irfan Pathan has continued his good form with the ball in the final of World Championship of Legends 2024. The summit clash of the tournament is underway between India and Pakistan Champions at the Edgbaston in Birmingham.

It couldn’t have gone any better as two arch-rivals in India and Pakistan are up against each other in the final of the World Championship of Legends 2024. Not only the competition between bat and ball is high, but the intensity is also on the top.

This was quite evident during the wicket of Pakistan skipper Younis Khan, who was removed by the all-rounder Irfan Pathan. The India player bowled a peach of a delivery to which the batter had no clue and had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.

During the third ball of the 12th over, Irfan Pathan bowled a delivery that swung in after pitching. Younis tried to tuck it towards the leg side but he missed the ball completely as it went onto shatter the middle stump and send the batter packing.

However, what caught the attention of many was the send-off of Irfan Pathan after he took the wicket. The all-rounder came up with an aggressive celebration as the batter walked off the field after being dejected with the way he got out.

Younis Khan didn’t have a great outing with the bat in the final. He managed just 7 runs off 11 balls and with his wicket, Pakistan Champions lost their 4th wicket for just 79 runs. Irfan Pathan had a great outing with the ball. The all-rounder bowled 3 overs and gave away just 12 runs.

Younis Khan and Irfan Pathan share an old rivalry between them. During the first-ever T20I between India and Pakistan in 2007, the all-rounder removed Pakistan's batter as he shattered his stumps. And now in the final of the WCL in 2024, a similar kind of display was on the cards.

Pakistan Champions had a decent outing with the bat in the final of the WLC 2024 against India Champions. Opening the batting, Kamran Akmal scored 24 runs off 19 balls while his partner Sharjeel Khan managed 12 runs off 10 balls.

The middle order of the Pakistan Champions struggled to get going as Sohaib Maqsood (21) Younis Khan (7) and Misbah-ul-Haq (18) couldn’t make big contributions with the bat. But it was Shoaib Malik, who stood tall for his team.

Shoaib Malik scored 41 runs off 36 balls and powered his team to a total of 156/6. For India, Anureet Singh picked three wickets while Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi, and Irfan Pathan bagged one wicket each. India Champions now would be keen to chase the target and win the title. But with the final being high pressure game, it won't be an easy chase for the team.
