Jacob Bethell made an outstanding effort on the field during The Hundred Eliminator match between Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave. Jacob Bethell took a remarkable catch at the boundary line to dismiss Southern Brave batter James Coles in the knockout match of The Hundred Men’s competition.

The Birmingham Phoenix won the toss and chose to field first at the Kennington Oval in London on Saturday, August 17.

The Southern Brave got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of Alex Davies on the second ball. However, James Vince and Lues du Plooy then added 76 runs for the second wicket.

James Vince scored 43 runs off 35 balls, with the help of six boundaries. Leus du Plooy added 39 runs off 32 balls with five boundaries.

However, the Southern Brave struggled as the Birmingham Phoenix bowlers made a comeback. The Southern Brave lost wickets at regular intervals during the recent match.

The final wicket of the Brave innings fell when James Coles was dismissed after a spectacular catch by Jacob Bethell.

Pacer Sean Abbott delivered a length ball on the leg stump on the 96th ball of the Southern Brave’s innings. Coles attempted a flick shot to hit a maximum behind square on the leg side.

Bethell, who was stationed on the square-leg boundary, caught the ball with both hands. The 20-year-old cricketer ran along the boundary line and dived to his right.

Bethell managed to secure the catch just inside the boundary ropes before tumbling to the ground in the final set of the Southern Brave’s innings.

Jacob Bethell avoided touching the ropes during the process. After securing the catch and landing on the grass, he celebrated by getting to his feet and tossing the ball away.

Adam Milne took three wickets for 18 runs off 20 deliveries. Benny Howell, Chris Wood, and Sean Abbott each secured one wicket.

Chris Jordan and Laurie Evans scored 20* off 9 balls and 14 off 10 balls, respectively. The Southern Brave managed to score 126 runs for six wickets in their 100-ball innings.

Just Relieved To Be Honest - Jofra Archer

During the run chase, the Birmingham Phoenix scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 100-ball innings.

Southern Brave fast bowler Jofra Archer secured victory with a 'Super-Five' during the knockout match. The all-rounder was named 'Player of the Match' for his impactful performance.

"Just relieved, to be honest. I thought I gave it away in the second last over against Livi. You just gotta commit to it (plans). Some days it happens for you, some days it doesn't. We got 11 match-winners, and the guys not in the 11 are match-winners themselves. Lots of physio and maybe some meds (recovery before final)," Archer said during the post-match presentation.
