Delhi Capitals' batting sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk took one of the best catches of this year's IPL so far to hand his team an important breakthrough against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Fraser-McGurk's magnificent catch marked an end to a high-class knock from Aniket Verma.

During the 16th over of the match, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a short-of-a-length delivery without putting much pace behind it. Aniket looked to pull the ball over midwicket and found good timing on it.

However, he didn't get the elevation as the ball went flat towards Jake Fraser-McGurk at deep midwicket. The ball seemed to be going over the boundary line because of the batter's good timing on it.

But Fraser-McGurk had other plans. He timed his jump perfectly after racing quickly towards his right and was able to catch the ball perfectly with both hands before tumbling to his right.

Watch: Jake Fraser-McGurk's blinder ends Aniket Verma's sensational knock

Aniket Verma was visibly disappointed for being dismissed after playing a sensational knock. He had to drag himself off the field but was welcomes by a huge appreciation from the dugout.

The SRH youngster was dismissed for 74 off just 41 balls. He struck 5 fours and 6 sixes during his knock. His innings carried his team to 163, which doesn't seem enough on a good batting surface but SRH will have something to bowl at.

Jake Fraser-McGurk's good day in the field

Earlier, Jake Fraser-McGurk had picked up a fine catch to dismiss Sunrisers' skipper Pat Cummins. The youngster had a fantastic day in the field both in terms of catching and ground fielding.

Fraser-Mcgurk is also known as a destructive opener and it remains to be seen how he bats in the run-chase. He had a fantastic season last year and will be expected to match that performance.

SRH put up a below par total

Earlier in the day, Sunrisers Hyderabad tried to play in their usually aggressive batting style on a good batting wicket. But they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

DC bowlers kept things tight and didn't panic despite SRH batters trying to go big constantly. Abhishek Sharma was unfortunately run out while Ishan Kishan too found a fielder in an attempt to hit a big one.

However, it was the dismissal of Travis Head that created the sensation as Delhi felt that they are ahead of the game at that point. There was a good partnership between Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen as the duo collected 77 runs in just more than six overs.

But Klaasen's wicket opened the floodgates for the Capitals and they barged their way in. SRH were finally all out in 18.4 overs. Left-arm quick Mitchell Starc finished with a magnificent five-wicket haul while Kuldeep Yadav finished with 3-22 in four overs.
