The premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah and the veteran batsman Karun Nair were involved in a heated clash on Sunday, April 13, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The exchange between Jasprit Bumrah and Karun Nair took place during the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals.

Karun Nair collides with Jasprit Bumrah
Nair finally got an opportunity in the Delhi Capitals playing XI amid his red-hot form after warming the bench in the first few matches of the Indian Premier League 2025.
He made an instant impact with the bat and looked in sensational touch. Nair showcased aggressive batting right from the start and kept Mumbai Indians under tremendous pressure.
Nair took the best bowler in the world - Jasprit Bumrah - to the cleaners and smashed 18 runs in one over. Notably, it was the most runs scored by any Indian batter against Bumrah in an IPL over.
Meanwhile, a collision happened between Nair and Bumrah on the sixth ball of the 6th over. Nair played a full toss from Bumrah towards deep square leg and took off for a run.
While completing the first run, Nair crashed into Bumrah's back, who was standing near the non-striker's end. Nair instantly realized this and apologized while running back for a double.
Bumrah lost his cool after the incident as he was seen saying something to Karun Nair furiously during the drinks break. Nair was then seen explaining the things to Hardik Pandya, who was seen telling him to calm down. Looking at this, the former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was seen making a hilarious face and saying something to Nair.

Meanwhile, Nair completed his fifty in 22 balls, which was his fastest ever in IPL history. He also became the second Delhi Capitals batter after Jake Fraser-McGurk to hit a fifty inside powerplay. Notably, Nair’s last 50+ score in the IPL came way back in 2018 during his stint with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).

The wicket was a bit sticky up front - Ryan Rickelton
Speaking during the mid-innings break after Mumbai Indians posted 205/5 on the board, Ryan Rickelton said that the pitch was a bit sticky. He said:
"The wicket was a bit sticky up front. Tilak and Naman did a phenomenal job and have given us a competitive total.
"I’m still learning. It was nice to get one on my legs to get the confidence going. There is a bit of change up for us and hopefully, we will defend it.
Ryan Rickelton was also hopeful of the pitch not changing much in the second innings, and he added that they are happy to have Jasprit Bumrah back. He said:
"Hopefully, it doesn’t change too much. The nature of the wicket is that it is going to get slower and lower as the game progresses. Jasprit is a world-class player. So happy to have him back. Nervous to keep against him with the angle with which he bowls."
