India National Cricket Team pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah fought like a warrior with the bat in the third Test of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team.
Jasprit Bumrah, however, was totally devastated after his stay in the middle was cut short by England National Cricket Team skipper Ben Stokes at Lord's in London on Monday, July 14.
Jasprit Bumrah falls for 5 in the last innings
Bumrah returned to the India playing XI in the Lord's Test match after missing out on the Edgbaston Test due to workload management.
He made an instant impact with the ball in the first innings and bagged a sensational 5-wicket haul to put his name on the Lord's honours board.
Bumrah bowled 27 overs and conceded 74 runs while picking up five wickets. In the second innings as well, Bumrah delivered a solid spell and bagged two wickets while giving away 38 runs.
Not just with the ball, Jasprit Bumrah also made a terrific contribution with the bat while chasing 193 in the fourth innings on Day 5. He built an exceptional 35-run stand in 132 balls with Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja was consistently taking a single off the 4th or 5th ball of the over and allowed Bumrah to play one or two balls during the partnership. However, that changed when Bumrah took the single off the 4th ball in Brydon Carse's over, leaving Jadeja with the last 2 balls, which in turn put Bumrah on strike against Ben Stokes in the 62nd over.
On the third ball of the 62nd over, Ben Stokes handed India a massive heartbreak by dismissing Jasprit Bumrah. He bowled a short ball to Bumrah, who miscued a pull shot and was caught by Sam Cook, who ran back from mid-on to complete a good catch. Bumrah was totally shattered after getting out, and he dragged himself back to the dressing room.
"Bumrah just could not help himself. He had a number of flaps at the short ball and this time it was straight up in the air," Michael Atherton said on Sky Sports.

What a morning for England - Michael Vaughan
Earlier on Day 5, England bowlers did a fantastic job and reduced India to 112/8 in 39.3 overs by dismissing Nitish Kumar Reddy at the stroke of lunch. Speaking on BBC Test Match Special, former England skipper Michael Vaughan lauded the Ben Stokes-led side for their performance. He said:
"Brilliant from Chris Woakes. Nitish Kumar Reddy has played some immaculate forward defence, and the extra bit of bounce does him. What a morning for England. The way they have bowled - they have been relentless."
"India have not found any rhythm. It is not easy the pitch, it is tricky to bat on, but it has been the pressure and India have not been able to cope with it. Ben Stokes just knows when to win big moments. The rest of the team just follows," he added.
"Jofra Archer bowled a brilliant spell. It was a tactical masterstroke as I think I would have started with Brydon Carse after seeing him bowl last night," Vaughan further said while praising Jofra Archer for his game-changing spell.
