Jasprit Bumrah was greeted with showers of rose petals as he returned home as the T20 World Cup winner.

The Men in Blue returned to India on Thursday, July 4, after a brief delay in Barbados due to a hurricane. The T20 World Cup champions received a rousing welcome from fans upon arriving in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the team for breakfast to celebrate their victory in the ICC tournament.

The Indian cricket team celebrated their T20 World Cup victory with an open-bus parade in Mumbai on Thursday. The BCCI organized a felicitation ceremony for the team later in the day. Bumrah joined the parade, participated in the celebrations, and attended the BCCI event before heading back to Ahmedabad.

The India cricket team clinched their second T20 World Cup title by defeating the Aiden Markram-led South Africa team in a thrilling final in Barbados on June 29. Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional bowling performances throughout the tournament earned him the prestigious Player of the Tournament accolade.

Wouldn't Have Been Able To Win The World Cup - Irfan Pathan

Speaking to Star Sports, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently praised Jasprit Bumrah for his pivotal role in Team India's victory at the 2024 T20 World Cup. Pathan emphasized that India wouldn't have been able to win the World Cup if Bumrah had not been part of the team in the ICC tournament.

"We have not talked about Jasprit Bumrah as much as we should have because if you take out Bumrah from this Indian team, we wouldn't have been able to win the World Cup. He is so important, he is so crucial. He made the most impactful performance in this World Cup. We have won this World Cup because of him," Pathan said.

"He is 50 percent of our bowling because you can use him with the new ball, you can use him in the middle overs when you need wickets," Pathan added.
