India fast bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah put the team management in a worrying situation during the third day of the ongoing first Test match against New Zealand. Bumrah was left with a bleeding middle finger during the first innings, but the fast bowler completed the over despite the pain.
The home team was bowled for a disappointing total of 46 in their first innings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, their lowest ever at home. New Zealand had taken a 134-run lead by the end of the second day's play. The hosts needed an incredible show of courage to stay in the Test match.

The incident took place in the 86th over of the New Zealand first innings. Team India's physio came to the field during the middle of the over. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, who was on the commentary panel, stated that Bumrah's middle finger was bleeding after a cut while bowling.
Despite the injury to his middle finger, Bumrah finished the over and returned shortly after with his finger taped. Here’s the video of Bumrah continuing to bowl with a bleeding finger:

Jasprit Bumrah Took Only Wickets During First Innings In Bengaluru
The Indian bowlers took four wickets in just 15 overs, restricting the visiting team to 233-7. They seemed set to bundle out New Zealand for a lead of less than 200 runs. However, Rachin Ravindra and Tim Southee added a record-equaling century partnership for the eighth wicket to frustrate India.
New Zealand's aggressive counterattack helped them secure their largest-ever lead against India in Test cricket in India. They took a first-innings lead of 356 runs in the match. For India, it is their biggest home deficit in 16 years. They conceded a 448-run lead to South Africa in Ahmedabad in 2008.
