Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Australia's opening batter Sam Konstas in the second innings of the ongoing fourth Test in Melbourne. Bumrah had a special celebration after dismissing Sam Konstas, who had dominated the Indian bowling attack in the first innings with aggressive batting.

Bumrah bowled with venom from the start, offering no loose deliveries or freebies. Konstas struggled throughout his 20-ball innings and failed to connect with most of the balls, exposing his weakness against the moving ball. He could have been dismissed multiple times during this short stay at the crease.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sam Konstas for just eight runs in the seventh over of Australia's second innings. Bumrah stuck to his remark that he could have got Konstas out several times in the first innings. After bowling deliveries that moved away and beating the batter, he unleashed a stunning inswinger.

The ball went through the bat-pad gap and hit the top of the middle stump—a bowler’s dream delivery. Following the wicket, Bumrah celebrated with uncharacteristic animation, waving to the MCG crowd and urging them to cheer. The right-arm pacer mimicked Konstas’ celebration from the first innings which he did after Kohli's wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah Thought: ‘Yep, I’m Here as Well’ - Mark Waugh

“What a showman,” former Australian spinner and Fox Cricket expert Kerry O’Keeffe said on commentary.

“You don’t see a lot of theatrics from Jasprit Bumrah normally. But (when) Sam Konstas was dismissed, he thought: ‘Yep, I’m here as well, don’t worry about that.’” Australian great Mark Waugh added.

Bumrah has firmly established himself as the best bowler in the world. Konstas, still early in his career, had no answer to Bumrah’s brilliance. This wicket left Australia at 20-1 in the seventh over. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been instrumental in maintaining a high-energy atmosphere on the field.

  • Jasprit Bumrah – 26 wickets

  • Kapil Dev – 25 wickets

  • Jasprit Bumrah – 21 wickets (2018/19)

Bumrah has been in outstanding form in Australia and is India's best bowler in the ongoing Test series. The India vice-captain started the series with an incredible 8-wicket haul in a 295-run victory. He continued with 4 wickets in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide and a remarkable nine-wicket haul at the Gabba.
