Inzamam-ul-Haq fires back at Sunil Gavaskar over bold comments on Pakistan

Meanwhile, Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar recently claimed that India’s B and even C teams can defeat Pakistan after their early exit from the tournament. Well, Gavaskar’s remarks didn’t sit well with many, with former coach Jason Gillespie declaring his statement as ‘nonsense.’

Inzamam-ul-Haq stated, “Gavaskar sahab should look at the stats. He is a senior and someone we respect, but when speaking about another country… Your team has performed well, and you have every right to praise them. However, making such statements about another team isn’t fair. I say this with a slightly firm tone: please be mindful of your words.”

Sarfaraz Ahmed defends Pakistan amid heavy backlash

On the other hand, Sarfaraz Ahmed has backed the national team after their disappointing early exit from the Champions Trophy 2025. They were knocked out after back-to-back losses to New Zealand and India, leading them to face heavy criticism from fans and former cricketers across the globe.

However, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz has urged everyone to support the defending champions instead of making harsh remarks during this tough time.

Sarfaraz Ahmed said in Karachi, “It is often said that the team didn’t play well. Former cricketers, management, and coaches know that no team plays to lose. When criticizing players, it’s important to maintain balance in the discussion. Those sitting on TV have also gone through those phases.”
