On Tuesday, India off-spinner Jayant Yadav, playing for Warwickshire in the County Championship, delivered a stunning delivery to dismiss Somerset’s Kasey Aldridge.
When bowling for Somerset in their second innings, the 32-year-old pitched the ball outside the off-stump. The ball twisted swiftly back inside as Aldridge, a nightwatchman moved up the order, and attempted to guard it, going through his gates and clattering into the stumps.
Jayant Yadav had already claimed a wicket in Somerset’s opening innings, making it his second wicket of the game.
The footage of the wicket was uploaded by Warwickshire.
“‘Hey Siri, what is spin?'” the club captioned the post.

Somerset vs Warwickshire So Far
With the help of skipper Tom Abell’s tenacious 87 from 173 balls, Somerset batted through the day for 264 runs in 101 overs on a pitch that stayed sluggish but lost its threat. The captain led his team into a position where they could easily bat Warwickshire out of the match with the help of Tom Lammonby (40 in 170 minutes) and George Bartlett (91 not out, 209 balls).
The home team had another difficult day as they only managed to take two wickets in three periods. They must now muster the will to bat well enough on the last day to prevent a loss that would seriously harm their chances of surviving.
With Somerset starting the morning session on 13 for 2, they immediately entered the slow lane, adding 55 runs in 36 overs. At one point, Lammonby went 11 overs without scoring while one run was scored in seven overs.
It was ugly and dirty, but it was a fully logical strategy for the contest. The surface slowed down Mohammed Siraj’s speed and delivered only a very sluggish turn to Jayant Yadav, both of whom are India internationals so that Warwickshire’s dreams of an early clatter were dashed.
Before Lammonby edged Olly Hannon-Dalby to Rob Yates at slip, the second wicket partnership contributed 79 runs in 41 overs. While Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes shuffled a bowling attack that plugged away valiantly to ensure that runs, at least, never arrived swiftly, Bartlett skillfully took up the cudgels of prudence and settled in with his captain.
Abell’s 246-minute vigil came to an end when Danny Briggs turned a beauty onto his off stump, ending the fourth-wicket stand’s value of 72 in 25 overs.
Again, despite Lewis Goldsworthy’s contribution to the team’s perseverance, home hopes that one wicket would result in two were dashed. In 202 balls, Bartlett and Goldsworthy built up a century stand, and they were still there when play resumed the next morning after 121 more runs had been scored.
