England National Cricket Team former captains Joe Root and Jos Buttler left the young fans overjoyed by gifting gloves after their stunning batting performances against the South Africa National Cricket Team.
The dead-rubber third ODI of the series between the England National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team is currently underway at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday, September 7.
Joe Root hits a stunning ton, Jos Buttler goes berserk as England pile up 414/5
Root and Buttler displayed a batting masterclass in the final match of the ODI series against the Proteas and helped England pile up a massive score of 414/5.
The hosts, who headed into the match after losing the first two ODIs, got off to a good start with the bat as the wicketkeeper-batsman Jamie Smith slammed 62 runs.
Young all-rounder Jacob Bethell also played a great knock and smashed 110 runs, which was the first century of his career in professional cricket.
Talking about Joe Root, while batting at No.3, he continued his golden run with the bat and once again provided the stability to the English team.
He looked in immense control from the start and took a single off Codi Yusuf on the fourth ball of the 46th over to reach his 19th ODI hundred.
Joe Root also became the first player to score 10 ODI tons on English soil before being caught by substitute fielder Maphaka at point as bowler Bosch went full and at the stumps.
As Root was walking back after scoring 100 runs, he handed his batting gloves to a delighted young fan in the crowd.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler played ultra-aggressive cricket while batting at No.6 and blasted 62 runs off 32 balls. He emulated Joe Root after the end of the innings and was seen handing his gloves to a young fan, leaving him in delight, before walking back to the dressing room.

It was pretty special - scoring your first professional hundred - Stuart Broad hails Jacob Bethell
Speaking on Sky Sports, Stuart Broad lauded Jacob Bethell's innings and said that he has a bright future ahead. He elaborated:
"It was pretty special - scoring your first professional hundred in an ODI - and he played beautifully. England have talked highly of him all summer so we knew the talent was there, we just hadn't necessarily seen it. But the way he struck the ball at Lord's on Thursday and now here - he was sublime.
"He manipulated the field beautifully and is a crisp striker of the ball, not just against spin but pace as well. What I hear is he has a mature head, and he has a bright future."
Stuart Broad also opined that Joe Root played a crucial role in ensuring that Jacob Bethell got to his maiden hundred. He explained:
"It is easy to talk about his hundred but the way he got Bethell to his hundred showed Root's calmness and experience. When Bethell was in the 90s, Root got him back on strike and got him through that fairly quickly.
"If you had asked Bethell who he would have wanted to be with him near a hundred, he would have said Root. Joe doesn't soak up dot balls, doesn't let pressure get to him, steadies the ship. It wasn't a blazing innings but he did what he does. He found twos when they were there and when he got out, that allowed bigger hitters to find the fence."
