Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Jos Buttler failed for the second match running as the Sanju Samson-led team chases 148-run target set by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 7th match of the IPL 2021 being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Sanju Samson won the toss for the second time running and put in Capitals into bat first. Both teams made a couple of changes. David Miller came into the RR playing XI in place of Ben Stokes, who was ruled out of the IPL 2021 due to a broken finger. Also, Jaydev Unadkat was brought in place of Shreyas Gopal.
Delhi Capitals found it hard to bat right from the start as RR bowlers Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, and Mustafizur Rahman took the pace of the ball on a wicket where the ball stopped before coming to the bat.
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ajinkya Rahane all fell for single-digit scores, and all were picked by Jaydev Unadkat. Then Mustafizur removed Marcus Stoinis for a duck, while Rishabh Pant kept one end busy. Lalit Yadav (20), Tom Curran (21), and Chris Woakes (15*) added runs while Pant made 51 in 32 balls with 9 fours.
Chris Woakes Removes Jos Buttler With A Beauty Of An In-Cutter
Rajasthan didn’t have a better start, as Chris Woakes removed Manan Vohra for 9 runs, caught by Kagiso Rabada, as he tried to flick a ball on the leg side and got a leading edge. Woakes then hurt the Royals badly, as he took the wicket of Jos Buttler for 2 runs, leaving them 13/2 in 3 overs.

Woakes landed a ball on its seam, which cut Buttler into half, taking the inside edge of his bat, and was caught easily by Rishabh Pant. The umpire had no hesitation in giving that out and Delhi Capitals hit a jackpot with Buttler getting out for this cheap.
