Virat Kohli fails in second ODI
Kohli was unable to make his comeback to ODI cricket a memorable one as he was dismissed for a low score. He walked in the middle after the dismissal of Shubman Gill in the 17th over.
The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Gill provided a great platform for Virat Kohli with their brilliant 136-run partnership to settle in and take the game deep, but he failed to do that.
Kohli's stay in the middle was not a comfortable one and he kept struggling during his short stay. He was eventually dismissed in the 20th over of the innings and his wicket was filled with drama.
On the second ball of the over, Adil Rashid bowled a tossed-up delivery outside off-stump. Kohli played it towards the point where Jos Buttler picked the ball and threw it straight back to the Indian batter. Kohli got hit and looked in discomfort with a wry smile on his face as Jos Buttler instantly apologized.
That was enough to break Kohli's concentration as he was dismissed on the very next ball. Adil Rashid bowled a floated full ball around off that drifted in initially, and Kohli leaned ahead to block it. However, the ball turned away, and he seemed to get a faint nick.
Phil Salt grabbed the catch and convinced Jos Buttler to take a review. The UltraEdge detected a clear spike when the ball was next to the bat, and looking at this, Kohli was absolutely shocked.
He was quite disappointed with the way he got out and had to take a long walk back to the pavilion after scoring 8-ball 5. Overall, in nine innings, Kohli has been dismissed by Adil Rashid four times.

Who Were Top Performers For England In 1st ODI vs India?
Despite a 4-wicket loss at the hands of the India National Cricket Team, a few English players put in noteworthy performances in the first ODI in Nagpur.
Jos Buttler (52 off 67) and Jacob Bethell (51 off 64) were the only two England batters, who breached the fifty-run mark in the match.
England's skipper played a responsible innings, steadying the ship after a top-order collapse. His half-century gave England a chance to fight in the match. On the other hand, young all-rounder Bethell showed great maturity and his shot selection was impressive, though he lacked support from other batters.
Opening batsman Phil Salt (43 off 26), meanwhile, provided England with a blazing start, taking down Indian bowlers.
In the bowling department, Adil Rashid (2/49) and Saqib Mahmood (2/47) shined for the visitors. Rashid continued being England’s best bowler in the ongoing India tour and he picked up big wickets of Axar Patel and KL Rahul. On the other hand, Mahmood dismissed Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gil - to deny him a ton.
