Even before the start of the game, it was quite clear that emotions would run high during the game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the tension ignited from the very first delivery.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won a good toss and opted to field first. Both the teams made one change to their playing eleven. CSK included Matheesha Pathirana in their playing eleven while RCB handed debut to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Nathan Ellis and Rasikh Dar Salam ere dropped from the CSK and RCB playing elevens respectively.
And as soon as the action got underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday (March 28), Khaleel Ahmed did not waste much time in trying to unsettle RCB opener Phil Salt. The left-arm pacer opened the bowling for the Chennai-based outfit and bowled a fine delivery to get things started.
The ball was angled across and Salt chased it but could not make any contact with it. As the ball went behind the stumps after beating Salt's outside edge, Khaleel Ahmed ran all the way to the RCB opener and had an animated exchange before turning back with a smile on his face.

Meanwhile, Salt has made a quick start to the proceedings in the game. After being beaten on the first ball, he hit Khaleel Ahmed for two fours in the first over. In the second over, the England star took Ravichandran Ashwin to the cleaners, hitting him for two fours and a six.
Both CSK and RCB have started their campaign with a win and will be keen to extend their winning start. RCB started their campaign in style by beating defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their own backyard. On the other hand, CSK defeated Mumbai Indians by four wickets in their first game of the IPL 2025.
