Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul couldn't score big in his maiden outing for the franchise in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 10th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the teams is taking place at the Dr YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
KL Rahul, who walked out to bat at number four, came out all guns blazing as he slammed the boundary on the first ball that he faced. He then followed it up with the gigantic six and even after that didn't stop as he slammed his third ball for another four.
With the way KL Rahul started his innings, it was almost certain that he would come up with something special. But that wasn't the case as the Delhi Capitals batters couldn't carry on the start that he had and was removed in the very next over after he arrived to bat.
KL Rahul was removed by Zeeshan Ansari in the 12th over. The leg-spinner fired the delivery down the leg-side and the batter went for a sweep and missed it altogether. The leg stump was uprooted as his cameo came to an end. Rahul was furious with himself after getting out and he dropped the F-bomb.

KL Rahul ends with an innings of 15 runs off 5 balls
KL Rahul ended with an innings of 15 runs off 5 balls. The keeper-batter had a strike rate of 185 in his maiden outing for Delhi Capitals as he slammed 2 fours and 1 six in his innings. However, his low score didn't cost the franchise much as they chased the target easily.
Faf du Plessis (50) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (38) took Delhi off to a flying start as the duo added 81 runs for the first wicket. Abishek Porel (34*) and Tristan Stubbs (21*) also contributed for the side as Delhi Capitals chased the target of 164 runs with four overs to spare.
I have tried my best, I am trying to learn as much as I can from him Kevin Pietersen - Tristan Stubbs
Tristan Stubbs talked about the win, saying that they kept things simple and also said that the team balance was pretty good this time. He also mentioned that he is trying his best to learn from his mentor Kevin Pietersen. He said after the match:
"It looked a little bit slow, it looked like it was spinning throughout the day and the cutters were really working. Didn't seem like it was easiest to bat. We kept it simple, and put the guys whoever they felt needed to be in the hot spots. At 10 overs, we were chatting about conserving our energy because it was really hot out there.
"(On the team balance) Really good, Faf up top batted like a Dogpool, he was amazing. The new guys coming in have done phenomenally, hopefully we can keep going. I have tried my best, I am trying to learn as much as I can from him (Kevin Pietersen). I ask many questions."
