The Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman KL Rahul had an interesting post-match interaction with the owner of his former team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Sanjiv Goenka, on Tuesday, April 22.
KL Rahul looked in no mood to engage in a long post-match chat with Sanjiv Goenka, and he walked away from him after the conclusion of the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

KL Rahul finishes the match in style vs LSG
Heading into the match LSG vs. DC clash, all eyes on were KL Rahul as fans and experts were excited to see how he would perform against his former franchise following a forgettable run in IPL 2024.
Notably, DC and LSG had earlier faced off each other in their Indian Premier League 2025 opener, but Rahul didn't take part in that as he was unavailable for selection.
However, when he came against his old team, he made sure to bring out his best with the bat. While chasing 160 runs, Rahul came out to bat at the No.3 spot and played a tremendous innings.
He slammed 57 runs off 42 balls and his innings was studded with 3 fours and 3 sixes. One of the sixes that KL Rahul hit was to finish off the match on the 5th ball of the 18th over.
After the match, as Rahul walked past Sanjiv Goenka, the LSG owner shook his hand to congratulate him and was trying to say something in an attempt to have a chat. However, Rahul was not interested in it and he simply walked away coldly, seemingly ignoring Goenka.

So, the discussion with KL (Rahul) was that we can make up anytime - Abishek Porel
Speaking after the match, the Delhi Capitals (DC) youngster Abishek Porel said that he wanted to make the best use of the powerplay while opening the innings for his team.
He also talked about his discussions with KL Rahul and said that they just wanted to play the ball on its merit as they were aware that they can make up for the slow run rate anytime they wanted to. Porel stated:
"I wanted to utilise the powerplay, that was the planning, it was a big ground, so the idea was to find the gaps. If it was in my zone, the plan was to hit a six.
"We were talking that it’s a matter of one or two overs, we wanted to play as less dot balls as possible. So, the discussion with KL (Rahul) was that we can makeup anytime and we wanted to play the ball on its merit."
During his innings, Rahul created history by becoming the fastest batter to score 5000 runs in IPL. Here are the list of records he created:
