Bollywood star Suniel Shetty is glowing with pride as his son-in-law, KL Rahul, continues to light up the ongoing IPL 2025 with stellar performances for the Delhi Capitals. After being released by the Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul switched gears at the Delhi Capitals this season.
With three half-centuries already under his belt, the right-handed batter has become one of the key forces behind the Capitals’ stunning campaign in the ongoing IPL 2025. His poise, consistency, and hunger for runs have been on full display in the DC jersey.
His bat is doing the talking: Suniel Shetty hails KL Rahul's IPL 2025 dominance
While Rahul has been ruling the headlines for his excellent performances in the ongoing IPL 2025, Suniel Shetty feels no need to boast about his son-in-law’s success, saying his bat is doing all the talking. Just like in his film career, Shetty prefers letting the work speak for itself.
Suniel Shetty was quoted as saying by Cricket Next, “Rahul's bat is doing the talking. What more can I say? And why should I praise my own? Even when my films were successful, I never stood up to boast about their success. I simply moved on to the next project.”
The Karnataka star has so far amassed 371 runs in nine games for the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing tournament. But one particular innings that set social media buzzing was his unbeaten 93 off just 53 balls against his former franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 10.

KL Rahul’s “This Is My Ground” moment stuns Suniel Shetty
Rahul's superb knock has not only guided DC to an easy victory over RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium but also brought out a rare side of him. Rahul, who is known for his calm and cool demeanor, surprised everyone with his fiery celebration after sealing the win for DC.
He thumped his chest, pointed to his jersey, and tapped his bat on the pitch as if saying, "This is my ground," to send a bold statement, possibly to RCB and LSG. After the match, Rahul revealed that his gesture was inspired by the Kannada blockbuster Kantara.
Suniel Shetty, who has always stood firmly behind KL Rahul, acknowledged the emotions behind the DC star's Kantara celebration in Bengaluru. He believes that Rahul’s viral celebration sent a strong message, and those it was meant for definitely got the point.

Shetty signed off by saying, “Yeh pehli baar dekha hai usko aise karte hue (This is the first time I’ve seen him doing like that, you know). So somewhere down the line, he must have been hurt. He told the people. Aur jisko message milna hota hai, usko mil hi jaata hai (He sent out a message, and the ones it was meant for, they definitely got it).”
