Watch: Krunal Pandya Hugs Charith Asalanka In A Brilliant 'Sprit Of Cricket' Gesture

Indian off-spinning all-rounder Krunal Pandya had a brilliant outing in the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo

The Baroda and Mumbai Indians cricketer not only impressed one and all with his disciplined bowling but also with his brilliant gesture that would have surely whetted the appetite of ‘Spirit of Cricket’ merchants.

It all happened during the 4th ball of the 22nd over when Dhananjaya de Silva struck a drive straight to Krunal.

Krunal made a brilliant diving effort to catch the ball and nearly ended up colliding with the non-striker, Charith Asalanka.

In what was a heartwarming moment, Krunal Pandya got up and proceeded to give a warm hug to Asalanka.

Coming back to Krunal’s performance in the first ODI, the southpaw was pretty disciplined in his line and length and, as a result, the Sri Lankans couldn’t get the left-hander away.

Pandya raced through his quota of ten overs at Jadeja-esque speed and, in return, he gave away just 26 runs besides claiming one wicket.

He dismissed Dhananjaya de Silva in the 25th over when the Sri Lankan, in an attempt to lift the left-arm spinner, ended up miscuing it down Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s throat.
