The 25-year-old England National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Matthew Potts has delivered a stunning performance with the ball and has troubled the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batters in the second Test match of the three-match series at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

In the Test series opener against the Lankan Lions, Matthew Potts didn't have a good outing as he went wicketless in both innings. He registered the bowling figures of 0/48 & 3/47 in the Manchester Test match.

However, he made sure to improve his performance in the second Test match and looked terrific with the ball. Matthew Potts bowled tight lines and lengths to make life difficult for the Sri Lankan batters, but his best came in the 21st over of the innings.

On the first ball of the over, Matthew Potts bowled a 133 kmph scrambled seam delivery to the veteran batsman Angelo Mathews. The ball jagged back in before moving away, and Mathews turned into an 'S' and was beaten on the outside edge as the ball went on to hit the off-stump.

Angelo Mathews was sent packing by a brilliant delivery from the England pacer for 22 off 36 balls. His innings also consisted of 3 fours.

Matthew Potts then bowled two dot balls before dismissing Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva for a 3-ball duck.

He bowled a length delivery, and the Sri Lankan skipper closed the face of the bat to face it, which saw the ball taking an edge and moving into the hands of Harry Brook at second slip. He bowled two more dots in the over to finish with a double-wicket maiden.

At tea, the visitors were down and out at 129-7 in response to England's 427. And speaking during the tea break, former English skipper Nasser Hussain stated that he was very impressed with the way England played. He stated:

"I was very, very impressed with England [in the afternoon session]. They look like a side which understand conditions here and understand the ends. Sri Lanka are the complete opposite - when they were in the field and definitely when they batted."

When asked whether the England National Cricket Team should enforce follow-on if they have the chance, Nasser Hussain said that it wouldn't be a great move.

Hussain added that England should bat again instead of enforcing follow-on because Chris Woakes looked tired at the stroke of tea, and Ollie Stone is an injury-prone pacer. He elaborated:

"All of the cricketing reasons are to bat again. You've got back to back to back Test matches, and bowlers - Olly Stone has got a history of injury and Chris Woakes looked fairly tired at the end of the last one.

"On a dry pitch, Shoaib Bashir can bowl and spin them out on day four. I would personally bat again."
