Pakistan's ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan was involved in an incident with Australia's legspinner Adam Zampa during the second ODI between Australia and Pakistan at Adelaide. Both the players were involved in a conversation which was caught on the stump mic.

During the 34th over of Australia's innings, Naseem Shah bowled a bouncer to Adam Zampa which the batter tried to pull but missed it. Rizwan appealed for a caught behind but the umpire shaked his head.

After consulting with the bowler, Mohammad Rizwan surprisingly decided to consult with Adam Zampa whether he has edged it or not. The Australian legspinner asked the Pakistan captain to take the review. Interestingly, Rizwan obliged and opted for it.

However, the ball was too far from the bat and was found to be missing the glove as well. As a result, the on-field decision stayed and Zampa stayed unbeaten at the crease.

The conversation between Mohammad Rizwan and Adam Zampa was caught on the stump mic. Rizwan asked Zampa whether he heard something and or not. Zampa replied by saying, "You seem to appeal for everything".

The Pakistan captain then asked Zampa, "Should I take the review now?". Zampa was quick to answer and said, "You should take it". The commentators shared a laugh after hearing the conversation on the stump mic.

Despite surviving this call, Adam Zampa was dismissed in the next over by Shaheen Afridi. He was the last wicket to fall for Australia as they were bowled out for just 163. Zampa was out for 18 off 21 balls which included a four and a six.

Mohammad Rizwan's first series as captain

Mohammad Rizwan has always been known to be a character on the field. The Pakistan wicketkeeper also has a knack of appealing way too much which the umpires have addressed before as well.

Rizwan was appointed Pakistan's ODI and T20I captain just a week before this series. The wicketkeeper-batter has been a key part of Pakistan's teams across formats. He is a safe wicketkeeper behind the stumps and is also a consistent run-scorer for his country.

Pakistan bowlers shine in Adelaide

Meanwhile it was a great day with the ball for Pakistan. The Men in Green reduced Australia to their lowest score against Pakistan in ODIs. Fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf had a great day with the ball as they shared eight wickets between them.

Afridi finished with 3-26 in 8 overs while Rauf picked up a five-wicket haul in his brilliant bowling spell. The right-arm fast bowler finished with 5-29 in 8 overs. Other quicks Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain also picked up a wicket each.

Pakistan have got a good start to their run-chase and as they look set to level the series. Australia lead the three-match ODI series 1-0 after winning the first ODI at Melbourne by 2 wickets.
