Siraj started off his spell in the powerplay brilliantly as he produced two wicket-taking deliveries to dismiss Phil Salt. However, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener survived.
In his second over, Mohammed Siraj made sure he picked up a wicket and put Royal Challengers Bengaluru on the backfoot as he dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for 3-ball 4.
Siraj bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Devdutt Padikkal on the middle and leg stump. The ball nipped away with the angle slightly and Padikkal danced down the track to try to smash it over the off side. However, he didn't make a connection with the ball and saw his stumps being knocked down.
Overall, Padikkal has come against Siraj for 17 balls in the Indian Premier League, and he has managed to score 15 runs at an average of 5.66 and a strike rate of 113.33 while being dismissed 3 times.

There's definitely going to be a bit of edge and fire - Varun Aaron on Mohammed Siraj
Speaking on ESPNcricinfo ahead of the RCB vs GT match, former India pacer Varun Aaron had said that Siraj would be fired up to do well against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru because he would have wanted to be retained by the franchise. He elaborated:
"There's definitely going to be a bit of edge and fire because I know that somebody like Siraj would have loved to be retained by RCB. Also, this is the first time Siraj is ever going to bowl to Virat Kohli in a T20 game. So, that's going to be fun to watch that competition.
"Also, when it comes to the last game, if you see Siraj bowled a lot of in-swing, a lot of in-swingers, a lot of scramble seams... Because I feel he's at his best when he's attacking the stumps. Because his out-swing, the kind of release he has, it does swing a bit early and gives the batsman a bit of a cue.
"But when he goes towards the stumps, when he bowls his in-swing when he bowls his scramble seam towards the stumps, it's very, very lethal. And if you see 2023, when he was really successful, most of his deliveries, especially in the power play, were attacking the stumps and they were in-swing deliveries."
