Mohammed Siraj might not have taken a wicket in his opening spell, but he made sure the Gujarat Titans took the upper hand early in the ongoing 35th IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, April 19.

Siraj had a poor start with the ball, as the fiery pacer gave away 16 runs in his first over, including two wides, but the Gujarat Titans pacer stole the show with his brilliance on the field and a Hardik Pandya-like celebration after taking Abishek Porel’s wicket in the second over against Delhi Capitals.

Mohammed Siraj’s Hardik Pandya-style celebration steals the show in GT vs DC IPL 2025 clash

Arshad Khan has bowled a low full toss, and Abishek Porel went for a powerful shot but ended up hitting it straight to Mohammed Siraj at mid-on. After his wicket, Abishek Porel hung his head in shame. It was struck firmly, but the placement wasn’t right. However, it wasn’t a great delivery, as Arshad failed to land that full toss outside off.

But the GT bowler will be happy to provide an early breakthrough to his team against the table-topping DC. Porel had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs off 9 balls, including 3 fours and a six. But it was Siraj’s celebration that caught everyone’s attention; it was a copy of Hardik Pandya’s epic celebration.

After completing the brilliant catch, Mohammed Siraj imitated Pandya’s ‘Shrug of Shoulder’ celebration that’s now going viral on social media. On the other hand, Abishek Porel was completely shattered after gifting his wicket to Arshad on the poor ball.

Porel was seen extremely dejected with his error, as he first raised his bat in disappointment before placing it right on the pitch while bending himself halfway down to show regret in shame.

Meanwhile, after getting a fiery start, DC has found itself in trouble as they lost two more wickets, with the GT pacer Prasidh Krishna getting rid of the in-form batters KL Rahul and Karun Nair to put the tourists under pressure in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

KL Rahul, Karun Nair fall as Prasidh Krishna turns the heat on DC in Ahmedabad

It was a fast and full delivery from Krishna that swung in late towards KL Rahul, who tried to flick it on the leg side but completely misjudged the line as the ball moved in sharply. Playing it with a closed bat face made it worse, as the ball struck Rahul right in front of the stumps.

The DC star briefly discussed it with Karun Nair but has not taken review, as it was a clean LBW out. It was a huge breakthrough for Gujarat Titans, as Rahul was looking dangerous, smashing 28 runs off just 14 balls with 4 boundaries and a six before making his way back to the pavilion in Ahmedabad.

Later, Prasidh Krishna dismissed another in-form batter, Karun Nair. It was a short ball outside off, and Nair, looking a bit cramped, tried to steer it away. The ball flew flat towards deep third, where Arshad Khan moved smartly to his left and took a brilliant catch.

Nair had to walk off after scoring a quick knock of 31 runs off 18 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, and had to depart. Presently, DC’s score on the board reads 111/3 after 11 overs against GT.
