Mohammed Siraj delivered a perfect delivery to dismiss Scott Boland, wrapping up Australia's first innings at 181 with India taking a narrow lead of 4 runs on Day 2 of the ongoing New Year’s Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney.

It was the third wicket of the match for the Indian pacer. The Mohammed Siraj delivery nipped back sharply from a good length, curling into Boland, who left a gap between his bat and pad. Siraj made no mistake as the ball sneaked through and crashed into the stumps.

Australia dismissed for 181 as India’s pace attack dominates on Day 2 at SCG

Earlier, India's pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj gave the team a perfect start on Day 2 of the fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney. Bumrah struck early, removing Marnus Labuschagne, and Siraj followed up with a brilliant over, dismissing Sam Konstas and Travis Head in quick succession at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Steve Smith and Beau Webster then formed a solid 50-plus partnership before Prasidh Krishna broke through, dismissing Smith for 33, caught by KL Rahul at slips. Australia, starting Day 2 at 9/1, reached 101/5 at lunch. After the break, Krishna struck again, removing Alex Carey for 21.

However, India received some bad news as Jasprit Bumrah left the field after just one over in the second session and was later taken to the hospital for scans. In Bumrah’s absence, Nitish Reddy stepped up, claiming two wickets in consecutive deliveries against Australia.
