Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni came out all guns blazing with the bat in the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants. The 30th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

MS Dhoni, who walked out to bat at number seven, looked in ominous touch with the bat. The keeper-batter played some magnificent shots in his innings and kept his team in the hunt with his brilliant power-hitting against Lucknow Super Giants.

The highlight of his innings was the one-handed six that he hit against Shardul Thakur in the 17th over. On the last ball, the pacer bowled a slower ball outside off and it was in the slot. The keeper-batter was through the swing too early.

MS Dhoni's bottom hand came off but he still got enough of it to smoke it over the midwicket boundary. With the six the crowd at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow went bonkers.

This means a lot, losing 5 games in a row that is not CSK - Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube talked about the win, saying that it means a lot as they lost 5 games on the trot. He opened up about his thought process, saying that he wanted to stay till the end and take his team home. While elaborating on the same, he explained:

This means a lot, losing 5 games in a row that is not CSK, our bowlers bowled really well and today I had wanted to stay tilll the end and I had this thought that I wanted to finish the game and I felt this is the time to take the game very deep after losing few wickets in the middle.

It's not about the mindset and it is about playing according to situation which is why instead of attacking, I felt taking the game deep was a better option. My plan was very simple which is not try and hit the ball very hard because bowlers were executing very well. Taking positives from this game to next game is very important.
