Devon Conway falls for 30 against Bangladesh as Mustafizur Rahman castles him
New Zealand got the target of 237 runs to chase in the match against the Tigers. They were off to a poor start as the premier pacer Taskin Ahmed castled the in-form opener Will Young on the sixth ball of the 1st over.
Then, the tall pacer Nahid Rana dismissed the superstar batter Kane Williamson in the 4th over to leave the Kiwis struggling at 15/2.
After losing two early wickets, New Zealand needed the veteran batter Devon Conway to step up and play a good knock. The left-handed batter, however, was not able to register a big score
Conway stitched up a good 57-run partnership with Rachin Ravindra before being dismissed by the star left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the 16th over.
On the fourth ball of the over, Mustafizur Rahman bowled a slower delivery to Conway that was angling just outside off-stump. The Kiwi batter tried to run it down, but he only managed to get an inside edge, and the ball rolled onto the stumps.
It was a typical Conway dismissal as he has several times got out in similar fashion. He walked back to the hut after scoring 30 runs off 45 balls, with 6 fours.

What happened in the previous ODI match between New Zealand and Bangladesh?
Bangladesh registered a dominant 9-wicket victory against New Zealand in their previous ODI in Napier on December 23, 2023, to avoid a series whitewash.
The Bangladesh bowling unit ran through New Zealand to bundle them out for just 98 in 31.4 overs as the Black Caps registered their lowest total against Bangladesh in ODI history.
New Zealand's innings never got going as Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam, and Soumya Sarkar wreaked havoc, picking up three wickets each.
Rachin Ravindra and Henry Nicholls fell early, leaving the hosts struggling at 22 for 2. A small partnership between Will Young and Tom Latham of 36 runs brought some momentum toward the hosts. However, after their dismissal, New Zealand faced a horrific collapse. The last eight wickets fell for just 40 runs as the Bangladeshi pacers dominated.
While chasing a low score, Bangladesh never looked in any kind of trouble and comfortably finished off the match in just 15.1 overs. After Soumya Sarkar got retired hurt early, Anamul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto made sure there were no hiccups and they stitched together 69 runs.
Anamul fell for 37, edging behind Will O’Rourke, but Shanto remained unbeaten on 51 off 42 balls to help his team register a historic first-ever ODI win on New Zealand soil.
