Nehal Wadhera, on Monday (May 26), took a brilliant catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma in the ongoing game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field in the must-win clash. MI were off to a good start thanks to a 45-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton for the first wicket. The stand was broken in the 5th over when Marco Jansen dismissed Rickelton for 27 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav then quickly steadied the ship and did not allow PBKS to make further inroads. They took the score past the 80-run mark before Nehal Wadhera's brilliant effort gave PBKS a much-needed breakthrough.

The veteran batsman was well set and was batting on 24 runs off 20 balls. While Rohit would have liked to shift gears and capitalise on his start, he could not do it because of Wadhera's impressive effort.

On the third ball of the 10th over, left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar bowled a tossed-up delivery around the leg stump. Rohit decided to play a big shot and made room for himself in an attempt to hit the ball over the fielder's head.

However, the former MI captain could not make a good connection as he ended up hitting the ball with the bottom end of the bat towards long-on. At first, it looked like the ball would fall short, but Wadhera had other ideas. The PBKS youngster charged in and dived forward to take a stunning catch.

Talking about the game, MI were on 106/4 in the 13th over at the time of writing this report. After Rohit's departure, Tilak Varma also returned to the pavilion in the 11th over for just 1 run. Will Jacks got the start but could not convert it into a big score and was dismissed for 17 runs by Vijaykumar Vyshak in the 13th over.

The onus will now be on the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Naman Dhir to power MI to a challenging total.
