A moment to forget for the West Indies batter Shai Hope, as his attempted reverse sweep on a wide delivery went terribly wrong, as he missed the ball and went on to hit his stumps in the CPL contest between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The CPL action has begun, and several intense contests have been witnessed over the past few weeks. Imran Tahir, one of the oldest campaigners in the history of franchise cricket, has been a special performer in the competition.
In the recent game between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL, Tahir was seen as the skipper of the Guyana team, and Nicholas Pooran, on the other hand, is captaining the victorious Knight Riders.
[Watch] Shai Hope smashes his own stumps in bizarre incident
One of the most bizarre scenes in the game was witnessed between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders, where Shai Hope was dismissed due to his own misfortune on a ball that was not even counted.
Guyana was already struggling with the bat; however, Shai Hope was the only ray of hope for the Guyana batters after he came in to bat at no. 3.
In the 14th over of the game, Hope attempted to play a reverse sweep off Terrance Hinds' bowling. However, when he was seen trying something unusual over the short third fielder, Hinds dug it slow and outside the off-stump, which resulted in a disaster immediately for Hope as he whiffed his bat and it went on to hit his own stumps.
Unbelievable scenes! 😮

When Shai Hope was dismissed, the Guyana Warriors were reduced to a struggling 109/7 with 6 overs still to be played. After Shai Hope was dismissed, the Guyana tailenders played comprehensively well and took the score to a decent total in the CPL.
Romario Shepherd, the all-rounder, batted well, scoring 19 runs off just 15 balls, while Dwayne Pretorius and Quentin Sampson were the original duo who batted deep down the order and took the score to 163, while also helping them bat till the final over of the match.
Pretorius scored 21 with 3 fours, while Sampson made a decent 25, with 3 sixes to his name. Imran Tahir finished the innings with a last-ball six.
Trinbago Knight Riders win after Openers wreak havoc in CPL
The Trinbago Knight Riders team has played comprehensively well, as Alex Hales, the opening batter alongside Colin Munro, once again scored stunningly for the team as they chased down the target of 164 with ease.
Munro scored his 4th consecutive half-century in the tournament, while Alex Hales, the veteran T20 batter, has worked wonders again. Though Imran Tahir, the Guyana skipper, picked 4 wickets in the game, Kieron Pollard's grit and Andre Russell's cameo took them over the line, as the Knight's veteran finished with a huge six.
