Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary had a decent outing with the bat and ball in the game against Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. The match between the two teams took place on Sunday (5th January) at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Nikhil Chaudhary bowled two overs with the ball and also played a decent hand with the bat. The Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder kept his team in the hunt in the chase of 187 as he held the one end while wickets kept tumbling at the other end.

While chasing the target, Hobart Hurricanes were left tottering at 101/4 and were under massive pressure. It was then when Nikhil Chaudhary, along with Tim David, joined hands and bailed the team out of trouble, taking them close to the target.
While Chaudhary played the role of anchor, David was at his brutal best. Their partnership frustrated the Adelaide Strikers batter as they added 75 runs that almost sealed the game for the Hobart Hurricanes and put the Adelaide Strikers bowlers under massive pressure.
During his innings, Chaudhary's shot almost took down leg umpire Sharad Patel. On the 5th ball of the 12th over, D Arcy Short bowled a googly on the leg stump, to which the batter swept to a deep backward square. The umpire, who was stationed there, attempted to get out of the way but fell badly on the ground.

Nikhil Chaudhary and Tim David take Hobart Hurricanes to the 5-wicket win as they chased the target with 8 balls to spare
Nikhil Chaudhary ended with an innings of 22 runs off 22 balls with two boundaries. But after he got out, it was Tim David who took the onus to himself and made sure that he took his team to win the game against Adelaide Strikers and gain two important points.
Tim David played an unbeaten innings of 62 runs off 28 balls. The all-rounder batted with a strike rate of over 222 and also hit 3 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. His knock powered Hobart Hurricanes to the 5-wicket win as they chased the target with 8 balls to spare.
Earlier in the match, Chris Lynn played a vital innings for Adelaide Strikers. He scored 49 runs off 27 balls. He slammed 5 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, batting with a strike rate of around 182, and took his team off to a flying start with the bat. He was supported well by Ollie Pope and Alex Ross.
While Pope played a decent hand of 33, and Alex Ross, who scored 47 runs, to the team to the big total on the board. Based on the collective effort with the bat, Adelaide Strikers posted a total of 186 runs on the board.
