Northern Superchargers Women, led by Hollie Armitage, secured their maiden Hundred title by defeating Southern Brave Women in the summit clash at Lord's in London on Sunday, August 31. The victory celebrations carried extra emotion as the players posed with a cutout of teammate Georgia Wareham.

The right-arm pacer showcased her quality after being controversially omitted from England’s squad for the 2025 World Cup.

Annabel Sutherland removed Danni Wyatt-Hodge (25) and Freya Kemp (26). Brave were restricted to 115-6 in their 100 balls, as the Superchargers maintained pressure through 42 dot balls, never allowing the batting side to settle. Kemp was the top scorer with 26 runs off 17 balls.

Annabel Sutherland Seals Victory With Six Off Georgia Adams

Chasing 116, the Northern Superchargers overcame early setbacks despite losing Davina Perrin for 17. Phoebe Litchfield provided quick momentum with 26 runs off 13 balls, including three fours and a six.

The match was secured through a calm, unbeaten 60-run partnership between Nicola Carey (35*) and Annabel Sutherland (28*). Sutherland sealed the chase with a six off Georgia Adams to spark celebrations.

Southern Brave, making their fourth final appearance in five years, struggled under pressure despite entering the 2025 final unbeaten. It was the Northern Superchargers’ first major trophy.

Northern Superchargers Celebrate Title With Georgia Wareham Cutout

Georgia Wareham was an important member of the Northern Superchargers in this year’s The Hundred League. She played a key role in the team’s campaign but was ruled out before the knockout stage due to a groin injury.

Despite Georgia Wareham's absence on the field, the team made sure to respect her contributions during the championship celebrations. As they lifted the trophy, the Northern Superchargers brought along a life-size cardboard cutout of Georgia Wareham. This gesture was appreciated by fans on social media platforms.

Northern Superchargers had a shaky start to the season, where they managed just two victories in their first four outings and lost Georgia Wareham, who also played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in WPL, to injury.

The setback turned into an opportunity as her replacement, Nicola Carey, featured in the remaining matches. Carey ended the campaign with a match-winning 35* from 25 balls, including five boundaries, in the final match. She earned the Player of the Match award.
