Watch- Not once but Shan Masood gets out twice in 1 ball and still manages to stay not out thanks to MCC rules

Pakistan's Test captain Shan Masood was given not-out by the 3rd as well as the on-field Umpires despite getting run-out in England's domestic T20 league.
Shan Masood, who last appeared in action for Pakistan in January, is captaining the Yorkshire County Club in the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast season. Masood is among those batsmen of the Pakistani team who is not featured in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, despite being a part of the runners-up squad in 2022.
A lot of questions were raised when Shan Masood was neglected for the T20I side as he is often regarded as one of the best technical batters in the country. The classy left-hander was pivotal for Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup, scoring 175 runs from 7 matches including the semi-finals and the final.
The most memorable knock he played in the tournament was against India when Shan Masood amassed 52 runs to help his side post a respectable total. He had a few more notable knocks and on the day of the finale against England, Masood was the highest scorer of his team, smacking 38 off 28 at a strike rate of 148.
But since the 2022 T20 WC final in Melbourne, Shan Masood hasn't played a single T20I for Pakistan but he remains unfazed by that. Since Babar Azam stepped down from captaincy across all formats, Masood has been retained as the Test captain. His sole focus lies on helping the red-ball team reach the pinnacle of Test cricket and reach their maiden World Test Championship final.
Currently, Shan Masood is captaining Yorkshire in the Vitality T20 Blast and something bizarre happened to him in a recent match against Lancashire.
What exactly happened?
Shan Masood was batting alongside England's Joe Root after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Masood had already scored a half-century and was on 58 when Jack Blatherwick came with the 15th over. In the very first ball of the over, the left-hander, who was on strike, tried to scoop a wide outside off-stump delivery towards fine-leg.
However, Shan Masood failed to execute the shot, and the ball, as a result, struck his helmet right after making a connection with the bat. Because of the hit he endured from the ball, Masood shook and hit the stumps with his feet mistakenly getting hit wicket as a result.
But the ball was still in play and Joe Root went up to the striker's end for a single but Shan Masood, in anticipation that he was hit wicket, stood there firmly. The wicket-keeper then picked the ball and threw it towards Blatherwick who ran Masood out. As soon as it happened, major confusion was all over the Headingley Carnegie stadium.
Blatherwick had bowled a no-ball and Shan Masood was technically run out, however, the latter thought that he was hit wicket so he didn't go for the run. The rules set by MCC claim that if the batter is misapprehended to be out, then the Umpire should intervene and make a favorable decision.
"An umpire shall intervene if satisfied that a batter, not having been given out, has left the wicket under a misapprehension of being out. The umpire intervening shall call and signal Dead ball to prevent any further action by the fielding side and shall recall the batter." - the MCC ruling claims.

Shan Masood was run out at the other end, but given not out due to law 31.7 of batter leaving the wicket under a misapprehension of being out. p<!---->i<!---->c<!---->.<!---->t<!---->w<!---->i<!---->t<!---->t<!---->e<!---->r<!---->.<!---->c<!---->o<!---->m<!---->/<!---->C<!---->W<!---->F<!---->5<!---->x<!---->w<!---->l<!---->9<!---->Y<!---->I
