Pakistan National Cricket Team fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has been completely sidelined by PCB from the Test setup. The premier fast bowler played the first Test of the series against the England National Cricket Team in August last year and was removed from the squad for the last two games along with Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Shaheen Afridi wasn't part of the South Africa Tests, and PCB didn't name him in the squad for the West Indies series
While Babar Azam and Naseem Shah were back in the team for the South Africa Test series, Afridi missed out, and the Pakistan Cricket Board stated that the pacer had been rested due to workload management. He hasn't been named in the West Indies series as well.
During the press conference after the draft of the PSL, Shaheen Afridi was asked by the reporter: "Shaheen you were given rest during the South Africa Test series, and you're not part of the West Indies series either."

"I think if we remember the positive things more, it will be good for our team" - Shaheen Afridi
Shaheen Afridi talked about the squad of Lahore Qalandars for the next edition of the PSL. He talked about the new head Darren Gough, saying that his presence will suit the environment of the team and they can learn from him as well.
Afridi also talked about the importance of having local players on the team. He was aware of the fact that the performances of local players have a major impact on the results and stressed that they need to look at the positive things. He added:
"See, Alhamdulillah, we have won 2 seasons. If you look at it, the local players of PDB have performed very well. When your local players perform well, the team wins. There are ups and downs. You lose and win the match.
"I think if we remember the positive things more, it will be good for our team. Since Darren Gough has come, hopefully, as a bowler, we will also learn more things. Sameen Bhai can tell us a lot about him. So, I feel the combination is very good."
Shaheen Afridi will be keen to set the stage on fire for Lahore Qalandars in the next edition of the league. The fast bowler had a tough season last year as a bowler and a skipper. PSL 2025 is all set to be played between April 8 and May 19.
