A shocking incident unfolded during the England-Australia match in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that showed the true colors of Pakistan. Surprisingly, this time it was not the fans but the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) security personnel that crossed the lines.

It is not a secret that India and Pakistan have a complicated relationship due to past conflicts, border issues, and political tensions. Sometimes the two countries try to improve their relations, but terrorism and on-border activities from Pakistan do not let that happen.

Well, India-Pakistan cold relations have also long influenced cricket, as the teams only play each other in the multi-nation events. There was a lot of drama for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as the BCCI refused to send Team India to Pakistan for the tournament due to security reasons.

It is being said that PCB is worried about losing its brand value and sponsors after Pakistan’s poor performance in the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy at home.

A PCB source revealed, “People are losing interest in the mega event, broadcasters are showing half-filled stadiums, etc. And the biggest worry is, despite the craze for cricket here, it may not be easy to sell Pakistan cricket as a brand in the future.”

The source further said, “Mohsin Naqvi’s (PCB chief) focus appeared to be on just the upgrade of the stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, whereas he forgot that the most important thing was to have a team that could make it to the final in the Champions Trophy because fans relate to performances.”
