Nice To Be On The Right Side - Phil Salt
Phil Salt, speaking after the match, expressed satisfaction with his performance and the team's win on a bowler-friendly wicket. He highlighted their improved performance after losing five consecutive matches. Salt said that the team is now focused on spoiling others' plans.
"It's nice to be on the right side of a run-out like that. Pleased to contribute, tough wicket here and we know it's bowler-friendly. The results haven't gone our way. Three games we have lost key moments late on and pleasing to see the way we turned up today," Salt said.
"Such is the nature of the game that you have to be on top form for the 12 months, no breaks but the preparations for the upcoming season are on. We are on a mission now to be party spoilers and with the luck we have had in the competition so far, that's a role we are going to enjoy," he added.
Phil Salt has scored 155 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 132.47 in The Hundred this season. The Manchester Originals secured their first win of the season after losing their initial games. They remain at the bottom of the eight-team table with just two points.
