Arya explained their tactic for the opening stand

The partnership between Arya and Singh was crucial in the successful run chase. For the opening stand, these two batters stitched a 126-run partnership in 6.5 overs.

Arya explained that they kept talking with each other while in the process of creating a strong partnership. As the surface was good for batting, they did not hesitate to go berserk against the home team bowlers.

“We (openers) were talking among ourselves that if we try to score 80 in the first six overs, then we can easily make 100 runs if we bat smartly. That was the thing working for us. (What would you say about the pitch?) The pitch was very good. And I had a belief that we could chase it,” Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya said after the match.
