Mumbai batters Prithvi Shaw and Shams Mulani were made to look like ordinary players by the Rest of India spinner Saransh Jain in the ongoing Irani Cup 2024 game. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

After Mumbai took the lead of over 100 runs in the first innings, the batters struggled to get going and lost their wickets early. However, it was Prithvi Shaw who held the fort for his team and ensured that the team got vital runs under their belt and took a big lead in the second innings.

The young Mumbai batter looked in glorious touch and played a vital hand for the team under tough circumstances. He rose to the occasion and made sure that he made an impact for the team in the second innings, having scored just 4 runs in the first innings.

Prithvi Shaw played an aggressive brand of cricket despite the wickets falling at the other end. The young batter displayed powerful stroke play and notched up a terrific half-century. He has been under a scanner for a while and it was a perfect innings for him.

With the way he was batting, he looked all set for a big ton. However, his stay at the crease was cut short by the brilliance of Saransh Jain. The spinner bowled a delivery from round the wicket that was tossed up on the off-stump and held its line after pitching.

Prithvi Shaw got forward to defend and defended it slightly inside the line, which led to his downfall. The ball clipped the top of the off-stump after beating the outside edge to send the batter packing at the crucial juncture of the game.

Prithvi Shaw played a magnificent innings for his team and ended up with a knock of 76 runs off 105 balls. He also slammed 8 boundaries and 1 six in his innings. With his wicket, Mumbai lost their 5th wicket and were left tottering at 125/5.

However, after that, Saransh Jain made sure that he chips in for his team with the ball two deliveries later. The spinner came up with another peach of a delivery and removed Shams Mulani, who has been going through decent form with the bat in the domestic circuit.

Saransh Jain bowled a tossed-up delivery on off-stump, and the ball had no turn in it. Shams Mulani came up with a blunder as he left the ball and didn't cover his off-stump, and that was pegged back. The Mumbai player bagged a two-ball duck as the team lost the 6th wicket.

At stumps on Day 4, Mumbai were in the driver's seat. They had taken a lead of 274 runs in the first innings. They would be keen to score a few more runs on Day 5 and then bundle out the opposition quickly to win the Irani Cup 2024.
