The longstanding debate between the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) has taken a fresh twist, thanks to a surprising on-air blunder by former Pakistan captain and commentator Ramiz Raja on Tuesday, April 22.
During the post-match presentation of the 12th PSL 2025 clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars on April 22, Ramiz Raja stunned fans when he mistakenly said “IPL” instead of “PSL” while speaking on live television.

Ramiz Raja made the error when Ireland’s left-arm pacer Joshua Little was being presented with the ‘Catch of the Match’ award.
Joshua Little, who is currently playing for Multan Sultans in the ongoing PSL 2025, had earlier been a part of the Gujarat Titans for two IPL seasons that made the Raja’s slip-up go viral like wildfire on social media.

This Ramiz Raja blunder comes shortly after Lahore Qalandars’ Sam Billings was asked to compare the PSL and IPL. In his post-match press conference, Billings openly admitted that the IPL is still far ahead of every other T20 league in the world, dismissing any comparison with the PSL.

Joshua Little’s sensational catch turns the game for Multan Sultans
Meanwhile, Joshua Little was given the award for his mind-blowing fielding efforts during Multan Sultan’s 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 2025 clash on Tuesday. In a crucial moment, Ubaid Shah dismissed the dangerous Fakhar Zaman with the help of a jaw-dropping catch by Little.
The game was hanging in the balance when Little’s amazing brilliance swung the momentum in Multan Sultans' favor. It was a length delivery from Ubaid, angled in from around the wicket. Fakhar, who was on fire with a quick 32 off just 14 balls, tried to muscle it over the leg side.
But he got too much height. The ball soared high into the night sky and gave deep square leg fielder Joshua enough time to judge it. With nerves of steel, the Irish star stayed under it, timed his reverse cup perfectly, and held on even as he fell flat on his back.

The crowd erupted as the Multan players ran up to celebrate with Joshua as Fakhar Zaman's explosive knock came to an end. It was a major setback for Lahore as they failed to chase down 229 runs in their PSL 2025 match against Multan on Tuesday.
Multan Sultans end losing streak in style, start PSL 2025 home leg with big win
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans have a strong PSL record at home, and they’ve kept that going in style in the ongoing season. After losing three matches in a row, they finally bounced back with a solid win in their first home game of the PSL 2025 season.
It’s a big relief for the Multan team as they open their home leg with a much-needed victory over Lahore. After winning the match, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan said, “The smile is back. We had not fielded well in the last three games. Our bowlers executed well today.”
Rizwan added, “We carried the momentum well today. Usman Khan was instrumental in creating that momentum for us. Our bowlers have been inexperienced since the last season. I’d like to talk to them, and that’s why I’ve been fielding instead of keeping.”
